Spencer Bridge Engineering
The Spencer Bridge Engineering team are leaders in delivering innovative solutions for some of the world’s most iconic bridges. Their expertise spans bridge restoration, maintenance, gantry inspections, strengthening, and refurbishment, covering everything from small rail bridges to historic structures.
This year, Spencer Bridge Engineering has been working on major projects including the Forth Road Bridge, Kessock Bridge, Tay Road Bridge, and Menai Suspension Bridge. With safety and innovation at the heart of every project, they continue to set the standard in bridge engineering excellence.

Spencer Rail Engineering
Spencer Rail Engineering deliver complex rail projects across the UK, drawing on their in-house design, engineering, and construction expertise. Using Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), they work closely with clients from the earliest stages to optimise design, improve efficiency, and manage costs.
Their capabilities cover track, signalling, OHLE, civils, stations, and depot upgrades, delivering safe, high-quality solutions even in live rail environments.
A highlight for the team in 2025 was the completion of the Tyseley Depot extension for West Midlands Trains. Delivered on time and under budget, the project expanded maintenance capacity and upgraded key facilities, supporting the continued growth of rail services in the region.

Spencer Building & Civils
The Spencer Building & Civils team deliver a diverse range of projects across community, industrial, commercial and marine sectors. With full in-house design and engineering capability, they support clients from early design and planning through to construction and handover.
Highlights for 2025 include our work at Trafford Energy Park in Carrington for Highview Power, delivering the enabling works and civils for the UK’s first commercial-scale liquid-air long-duration energy storage facility. They also continued work at Hull’s North End Shipyard, near our home base, where they are constructing, fabricating and installing a new lock gate to support the long-term preservation of the Arctic Corsair.

XER Schedule Toolkit is a cloud-based scheduling and planning software designed to simplify and enhance how teams manage Primavera P6, Microsoft Project schedules and project data, giving clients web-based access to their project schedules, anytime, anywhere.
