In 2025, Spencer Group continued its ongoing partnership with Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC) by welcoming 13 new apprentices from its pool of talented graduates, marking the company’s second-largest apprenticeship intake since its founding in 2017.
This year, Spencer Group’s new cohort of apprentices have taken on roles across different areas of the business, including six engineering apprentices, two apprentices each in commercial, marketing, and IT roles, as well as one apprentice specialising in plant fitting.
With the addition of this year’s apprentice intake, we have now successfully brought 65 young people into the workforce in just seven years, reinforcing our commitment to nurturing and developing young talent.
This year we have introduced a new Apprentice Buddy Scheme, with each new apprentice being paired with an apprentice from previous years, who will help guide them through their journey into employment.
‘Buddies’ will act as mentors for new apprentices, providing them with a familiar face they can go to for support, advice, and encouragement as they make the transition from sixth form straight in to full-time employment.

As a founding partner of Ron Dearing UTC, we have always contributed heavily to the employability skills of their students, ensuring they receive the practical and technical knowledge they need to flourish in their career.
That’s why we’re excited to welcome a new cohort of talented individuals in 2026 as we continue our commitment to champion the development of future-ready professionals!
