BORAD OVERVIEW

Lucy Grierson Focuses on Future Talent

Back to home

As we move into our new financial year work begins on our new annual operating plans focusing on business improvement, continued development and investment in the careers and personal achievements of our employees, recruiting new talent and expanding our head office at Humber Quays, Hull.

Our success means we are always hungry for new talent to join the Spencer Group family and we hope to build on the recent success we have had by investing in and nurturing our Apprentices. This has seen us fill posts in delivery, design, marketing, IT support and development with some great talent and prospects for the future.

With a competitive recruitment market we see this investment as one of the best ways to ensure we get the right people in the business and it’s wonderful to see these young people grow and blossom. Further to this, our recent attendance at the very well attended WiME (Women into Manufacturing and Engineering) event, demonstrated that there are lots of young women keen to pursue a career in engineering, with plenty of interest in our apprenticeships and graduate recruitment drive. Have a look at some of our inspirational women by clicking here.

We are also at the heart of Hull’s plans to create a leading University Technical College (UTC) for the region. The building works are progressing well and is due to open in September. The Ron Dearing UTC, will help meet a growing need to train young people with technical and engineering skills in Hull.

Our in-house team of Software Developers are making great strides with our online system, SOS. Their most recent impactful releases has seen the Applications and Valuations module brought into use and the bringing together of all the financial threads into one ‘real time’ project cost report.

SOS is moving beyond data and information storage towards providing knowledge that can help us understand and manage our projects more effectively.

We hope you enjoy this latest update on our business. If you would like any further information, please email us at think@thespencergroup.co.uk
