Spencer Group reach new fundraising heights to aid Teenage Cancer Trust

In 2024, Spencer Group proudly selected Teenage Cancer Trust as our Charity of the Year, recognising the vital work the organisation does across the UK.

Each day, seven young people aged 13-24 are diagnosed with cancer and Teenage Cancer Trust provides specialist care and support to help them through their journey. We at Spencer Group have been honoured to contribute to their exceptional efforts by raising funds throughout the year.

Guided by our dedicated team of Charity Champions, Spencer Group has raised over £11,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust. This achievement was made possible through a range of fundraising activities, including bake sales, auctions, and themed events such as a Guy Fawkes-inspired Sausage Sandwich morning and a Christmas Shoebox pledge to support those spending the holiday season in hospital.

In addition to these events, members of our team participated in the Hull 10k and organised the inaugural Tour de Spencer, a 102-mile charity bike ride in September. The ride, which took participants from the Humber Bridge Car Park to Goole and back through the Lincolnshire Wolds, was a challenging yet rewarding effort in support of this important cause.

"I have really enjoyed being part of the Charity Champions team this year; we have such a good group of people who are so passionate about Teenage Cancer Trust.

"I think this shows in the fact that we've totally smashed our fundraising goal and also got so many people involved - such as the 100 mile Bike Ride and the Shoe Box Collection.

"What we have achieved is just fantastic and it wouldn't have been possible without the effort from the Charity Champions. It's a great feeling knowing we have been able to provide TCT with funds for much-needed services."

"When I reflect on the year we've had with Spencer Group, automatically, I smile. When I came into the head office in Hull for the first time, I was greeted with so much passion for what we do. You've smashed your target and I hope you enjoyed your year raising money for us."
