Increasing offload capacity at Port of Tilbury

Construction of a new hopper at the Port of Tilbury is now complete, increasing the ports' offloading capacity.

The works follow an 18-month consultancy period which has seen the Spencer Design, M&E and Civils teams combine to develop the concept. Led by Dave Taylor, the site team are now in the final stages of the project and will shortly be undertaking dry commissioning prior to the receipt of material to allow wet commissioning to commence in the New Year.

The new hopper will be capable of offloading 4000t/hr of large granite stone, imported by ships and delivered by the Ship to Shore conveyor system to the end user Tarmac.
